How to Get the Guion Miller Roll Applications
Copies of the applications can be obtained
in at least four (4) different ways.
Strategy #1 - "The Do-It-Yourself-Method" - Look at the Family History Library Catalog online to get the microfilm number where the application number you found will be shown.
When the page opens, use the Film/Fiche Number Search and input 378594 to bring up the file. Look in the list for the application number and you will see the microfilm number where it can be found. Copy down the film number. Take the film number and the title of the film to the nearest LDS Family History Center.
At your local LDS Family History Center, order the microfilm and, when it arrives, make copies of the information. The process will take, probably, not more than three weeks and cost somewhere around $10, including film loan and copies of the file (depending upon the size of the file and the cost of copies).
Strategy #2 - Contact me and I will obtain the record for you for less than $20 per file, in less than two weeks, usually.....sometimes, within hours. If the name you seek is not in this list, see my list of additional applications in stock.
Strategy #3 - The following GM Applications can be obtained from Steve Travis for less than $20. He has the following in stock and can special order others.
Applications No. 1083 to 1175 = 92 Applications
Applications No. 3251 to 3342 = 91 Applications
Applications No. 3343 to 3442 = 99 Applications
Applications No. 3443 to 3540 = 97 Applications
Applications No. 6290 to 6391 = 101 Applications
Strategy #4 - Obtain the applications from the National Archives in Washington, DC; Fort Worth, TX; or Atlanta, GA (if Steve Travis has enough requests in hand, he will go to Atlanta NARA and retrieve them for you for less than $20 per app). Otherwise, copy costs at the NARA branches and requests by mail will cost at least $20 per file in most cases.
